Thank you for your interest in our Hot Fusion Yoga 300-hour Teacher Training. We are so excited you are here! This training consists of three separate modules broken down by body parts themes. Each module is two weeks long and can be completed in any order. You can pay one at a time or pay for all six weeks up front for a discounted rate. Please see below for a detailed description of each module. This training is a ‘game changer’ for any yoga practitioner or teacher.

MODULE 1

August 17-29, 2020

Hips + Legs/Finding Freedom through Foundation

100 hours/2 weeks:

  • 24 hours – Supervised/guided practice hours
  • 12 hours – Finding your voice
  • 20 hours – Anatomy
  • 14 hours – Philosophy
  • 20 hours – Posture clinic/alignment/injury management/hands on adjustments/sequencing
  • 10 non-contact hours

Monday – Saturday (sample daily schedule):

  • 30 minutes – Question & Answer
  • 2.5 hours – Morning practice (including seated meditation and Savasana)
  • Short Morning Break
  • 2.5 hours – Philosophy or Anatomy
  • Lunch Break
  • 3 hours – Posture clinic/finding your voice/teaching clinics/sequencing
  • Homework

Overview: Starting from the ground up, learn how to establish a stable foundation in the feet that will translate up the entire leg and pelvis. Explore the functional anatomy of the foot, ankle, knee and hip joints and learn to work with dysfunction, pain, and injury. Practice and teach advanced level postures and sequences. Learn to find balance between strength and flexibility.

  • Building Your Foundation: Why Your Personal Practice is Essential – finding your voice – teaching authentically based on experience and embodiment.
  • Key Principles of Asana Practice: Mindfulness, awareness, distribution of effort, integrity, execution, learning, sequencing.
  • Essentials of Sequencing: Why and how to create an effective sequence/key components and natural arc of a flow – grouping of poses/why they are in that order.
  • Standing Poses: Cultivate steadiness, stamina, strength, stride, foundation/feet, alignment of legs and pelvis, following the work up the torso, and upper body.

Weekend Workshop: *This module includes a weekend workshop between weeks 1 and 2 that is open to the public. It is on the last Saturday of the training module from 1:30- 3:30 at our Downtown Fort Lauderdale location. Cost is $70.

As a teacher-trainee, you must attend the weekend workshop. There isno additional expense for the workshop. It is included in the hours and cost of the training.

ROOT DOWN TO RISE UP

Wall Work – Foundation Work – Yoga 101 – Props: Blocks & Straps

Begin with talking about the hands and feet and their importance in the foundation of the practice, followed by the breathing and what ‘setting intentions’ means. Lastly, we will discuss the psychological effects the traditional yoga practice brings to our modern-day world.

Core + Spine/Finding Lightness & Mobility through Strength and Stability in the Core

Overview: Learn to balance flexibility and stability in the spine in every category of yoga posture (integrate the core in all yoga postures—and understand how to release the core when possible). Learn how to create purposeful, effective sequences that focus on backbends, forward bends, twists, and side-bends.

Weekend Workshop: *This module includes a weekend workshop between weeks 1 and 2 that is open to the public. It is on the last Saturday of the training module from 1:30- 3:30 at our Downtown Fort Lauderdale location. Cost is $70.

RISE UP – ACCESSING SPINAL MOBILITY THROUGH CORE STRENGTH

This workshop focuses on flexibility and strength of the entire core, including back bends, twists and deep abdominal core stabilization exercises.

Overview: Learn how to keep the neck and shoulders integrated and safe in every posture including advanced postures, how to work with dysfunction, imbalance, and pain in the shoulders how to practice and teach experienced-level arm balances and inversions.

Weekend Workshop: *This module includes a weekend workshop between weeks 1 and 2 that is open to the public.It is on the last Saturday of the training module from 1:30- 3:30 at our Downtown Fort Lauderdale location. Cost is $70.

As a teacher-trainee, you must attend the weekend workshop. There is no additional expense for the workshop. It is included in the hours and cost of the training.

MINDFUL AND GRACEFUL TRANSITIONS

One of the most impactful workshops you can offer for all levels is Transitioning with Grace. There is something for every student to work on and each will experience a “A-Ha” moment. Grace begins with the internal dialogue. Grace in transitions is not just a pretty way we move, it’s how we are, think, and act. Explore how grace begins with mindfulness.

FACULTY

The Yoga Joint’s Hot Fusion Yoga™ 300-hour Training is led by Paige Held and Kelly Green, founders of Yoga Joint and Hot Fusion Flow. Paige and Kelly have been teaching yoga since 2000 and 2004 respectively. Training is co-facilitated by an experienced team of experts in Philosophy, Anatomy, Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga and much more.
